After Treatment & Care
-
Ice may be used to soothe your tattoo after treatment. You may apply ice to affected area alternating 15 minutes on/45 minutes off.
-
You can apply unscented topical gels and creams such as A&D ointment or aloe vera gel to area immediately after treatment. A&D ointment helps reduce inflammation, itching, irritation and helps to prevent scarring. You can also apply antibiotic ointment if you develop blisters/scabs.
-
If blisters develop, allow them to pop on their own. Apply triple antibiotic ointment and gauze daily and as needed once the blisters open.
-
To prevent scarring, tattoo must remain covered for at least 2-3 weeks before and after treatment if it will be exposed to direct sunlight/sun tanning beds. For indirect sunlight, apply a broad spectrum sunblock with an SPF of at least 25 to treatment area daily for any tattoo that is being treated. Remember, we won't treat your tattoo if it is sun burned or sun tanned!
-
For itching, you may apply hydro-cortisone cream. Please follow directions carefully on packaging and do not use for longer than 7 days consecutively.
-
Showering after is fine, however, NO swimming or baths for at least 72 hours after treatment to avoid infection.
-
Avoid exercise 24-48 hours after treatment. For larger tattoos being treated, please wait at least 48 hours, especially if lifting weights.
-
For tattoos on the legs/feet, elevate treated leg/foot as often as you can for at least the first 72 hours after treatment. Massaging the area 5-10 minutes daily and wearing compression socks will improve circulation to the site and help fade the tattoo faster.
-
Drinking plenty of water, exercising regularly, avoiding nicotine and massaging around the treatment area 5-10 minutes daily will help fade your tattoo quicker!
